TEMPORARY SERVICE CHANGE/DELIVERY TECHNICIAN (3/6 MONTHS)

The ideal Candidate will have acquired experience using the ‘ELK’ package (Elastic Stack) and must also be able to  demonstrate competency of using Microsoft Windows and Linux.

This position is open to Candidates based on and off the Isle of Man as remote working is possible. Please note that if you are based on Island, off-island travel may be required during the term of this Contract.

JAVASCRIPT DEVELOPER

A leading contractor payroll services provider, based in the heart of Douglas is seeking to recruit a positive, experienced Javascript Developer. The duties of the role are varied and will include; *Designing and developing bespoke software solutions to meet project requirements *Fixing bugs in, updating and maintaining existing projects *Integrating third-party services and APIs into projects, such as for communicating with other platforms for payment processing or data retrieval *Using a variety of popular JavaScript tools and frameworks, such as jQuery, Angular and Node.js *Work as part of a team of other front-end web developers and back-end software engineers to meet various sprint and project deadlines *Developing tests for existing code to catch bugs and ensure the software is secure and stable. The ideal Candidate will have acquired/be able to demonstrate; *A bachelor’s degree in a technical field involving coding (e.g., computer science, engineering, information technology, mathematics) or equivalent technical experience * Strong knowledge of JavaScript, including familiarity with data structures, data typing, and prototype inheritance * An understanding of common software project team management tools and practices, such as version control software, sprints, and daily scrums *Expert Javascript web development, frameworks and libraries, building line of business web applications, using a TDD approach, ideally with Angular and React *Expert in front-end web development using HTML, CSS (Less/SCSS), jQuery and newer techniques such as storage, service workers etc. * Significant experience of RESTful API design and consumption *Good knowledge of software design patterns, SOLID principles and engineering approaches, such as CI/CD, etc. *Demonstrable experience in building responsive layouts and mobile websites with cross-browser compatibility from scratch from PSD. *Experience working with source control, automated build, deployment tools and package managers (AWS DevOps, Git, NuGet, NPM, etc.) *Excellent spoken and written English communication skills; able to present and articulate proposals, estimates and solutions clearly and succinctly *Have a high level of maturity; able to receive constructive feedback, particularly during code and architecture reviews

SYSTEMS ANALYST/TESTER

The duties of the role are varied and will include *Conducting analysis and producing clear documentation, including technical specifications and test documentation *Identifying and managing test related issues throughout the development lifecycle *Taking ownership for delivering accurate estimates of time and resources for assigned test phases, including dependencies, risk and assumptions *Communicating progress against plan for any work packages assigned *Representing the Systems Analysis and Testing team on corporate projects.  The ideal Candidate will have acquired/be able to demonstrate; *Experience in a similar role, preferably in a life assurance environment *Obtained or working towards ISTQB Foundation level qualification is desirable *The ability to generate and follow comprehensive test plans *Strong analytical and problem solving skills *Excellent written and verbal communication skills

GROUP IT INFRASTRUCTURE ANALYST

A leading life assurance organisation based on the outskirts of Douglas is seeking to recruit an experienced, enthusiastic Group IT Infrastructure Analyst. The duties of the role are varied and will include: *Assessing and implementing new technical solutions in line with business and company standards *Troubleshooting issues across the entire stack: Hardware, Software, application and network *Ensuring the provisioning and availability of IT systems and functions by monitoring and verifying the integrity of all components relating to the delivery of services to the business *Provisioning of support and expertise to the Service Desk and other teams within IT and to the business in general *Contributing to out-of-hours cover. The ideal Candidate will have acquired/be able to demonstrate: *A minimum of 3 years’ experience in similar roles within the IT infrastructure environment *Strong knowledge and experience of Networking, Switches, LAN, vLAN, WAN, Routing and Firewalls *Full understanding of Microsoft Active Directory, Server and PC O/S *Good working knowledge of Microsoft Exchange * Solid knowledge of virtualisation technologies, both Server and VDI. Including managing and provisioning of the virtual hosting *Knowledge of some or all of the following is desirable: Kong, Linux, Docker, Kubernetes, Elastic, Red Hat, Ubuntu *Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to correlate system behaviours based on known interdependencies between systems *Strong knowledge of SQL clustering and load balancing *Strong written and verbal communication skills
